- Remove everything that is unnecessary. - Be ruthless about building an A team. - Make stuff you believe in. - Collaborate often through vigorous discussion. - Push yourself and others to do the impossible now. - Make great experiences by simplifying. - Own your work and protect it. - Live at intersection of intellect and intuition.
As a rule, don't use more than three fonts in a design. For heading and body text try using fonts of different families, like for heading, Serif and for body text, Sans-serif and vice versa. This gives nice contrast in text.
The things which I have observed, we need to take care of while designing something with retro or vintage feel are written here. While I have tried to study this trend of design as closely as possible, if you think I should add any other point which is left, please leave it as a comment.
A theme is in very common term, the graphics, colors, typography and photographs, all these or some of the elements mixed together creatively to evoke the feeling of something particular. Like we have themes for seasons, festivals, professions, era etc etc...
Retro colors are basically less saturated variations of actual brilliant colors. In Photoshop, this can be simply done by lowering the saturation value of the colors in color selected box.
